7,000 Football fields!
Just imagine! This is how much room the fields that our potatoes grow on need. They grow for at least three months until they are harvested. Around 300 selected farmers bring us the best quality. Long-term contracts are the basis of a partnership that brings the know-how of our agricultural experts together with the experience of our farmers. Hand in hand, they provide reliable quality and guaranteed income for the farmers.
Strict guidelines guarantee reviewable cultivation methods which protect the environment and the consumer. Documented data on fertilization, irrigation and soil conditions along with targeted checks along the line from planting to harvest deliver important information. We have categorically decided against GM plants. Our method of contracted cultivation supplies us with high quality potatoes and allows for sustainable farming and an intact environment.

Our wheat
The flour that is used for our products is made from the best wheat and only ground in mills that we have certified ourselves. Some of the mills are also certified according to ISO and BRC. Here too: Goodness can be found right next door. For example, in Poland we use wheat from the region around our factory.
Best sunflower oil
When deep-frying our chips in Germany, we use only pure and high-quality sunflower oil, which has a high share of unsaturated fats.
High quality nuts
Sustainable and high standards – these are the criteria our nuts have to fulfill before they come into the bag. When we choose a nut that is going to go into your NicNac‘s bag, then we know exactly where it came from – its origin and the farmer that planted it.

We especially look at the origin and taste of all the oils that we use to make our crispy snacks. Besides sunflower oil, we also use palm oil to make our products. For the products that we use palm oil for, already in 2014 we switched to 100% certified sustainable palm oil at all our European locations.
The high global demand for palm oil led to a spread in cultivation areas in the past, which threaten valuable natural habitats in the Tropics (for e.g. the rain forest). This is why the RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) was founded in 2004 on an initiative of the WWF. International companies, which produce or use palm oil, environmental groups as well as other NGOs work together in the RSPO to promote environmentally responsible and sustainable palm oil that is certified according to specified criteria.
Lorenz Snack-World is a member of the RSPO. You can find out more here www.rspo.org
In addition, we participate in the „Forum for Sustainable Palm Oil“ (FONAP) which is an association of companies, unions and NGOs which are working together to increase the share of segregated, certified palm oil and palm kernel oil or their derivates in the German, Austrian and Swiss market and to make a 100% segregated certified palm oil and palm kernel oil available as soon as possible for these markets.

Packaging
Better to be on the safe side.
In order to bring fresh snacks to your table, they have to be packaged right. But how can we do this and be environmentally friendly at the same time?
A bag load of good ideas
Did you know that the foil of our chips bag is as thin as a hair? Something so thin doesn‘t weigh very much either – actually just a few grams when the bag is empty. These are the details that our packaging specialists work on. Their motivation is the aim to use resources efficiently and to make our packaging even better with new ideas. So that our snacks remain fresh and get to you safely – and so that you don‘t have that much to throw away when you are done.
Eco-friendly packaging
The large share of our cardboard is made of 100% recycled material. In addition, our suppliers use glue that is based on the starch that comes out of washing our potatoes. This way the boxes can be recycled after use. This is just another one of the many aspects our packaging experts look after – always keeping the environment in mind.
